To Turn on Camera on Mac for Facetime: Open Terminal from Applications Utilities. Click inside the terminal window and type ' sudo killall VDCAssistant ' without the quotation marks. Hit Enter on your keyboard. Accept that some apps won't work with virtual cameras like Snap Camera. Certain apps on your PC are not designed to work with third-party add-ons, including your virtual camera software. If you planned to use Snap Camera with Safari and FaceTime on a Mac, then you're out of luck as it won't work those apps on your computer. Reboot Your Computer Another quick way to solve camera problems is to reboot your Mac. Be sure to completely shut down your Mac instead of choosing the Restart option. Restarting your computer will close your session and temporarily turn off your Mac but leave the RAM untouched. Rebooting Your Mac When faced with the FaceTime no camera available on MacBook, the easiest fix to try is restarting your mac. The reboot will terminate all running processes and give you a clean slate to start with. However, if your FaceTime call is in a few minutes, you will have to try other quick fixes. To do this, click the Apple menu, and then click 'Restart.' In the window that appears, uncheck the box next to the 'Reopen Windows When Logging Back in' option. Click 'Restart,' wait for your Mac to power cycle, and then log in again when prompted. Relaunch the app that was trying to use your webcam and see if the problem is resolved.

Macbook's camera does add a nice touch when it comes to wanting to make new memories! With a lot of effects, it's fun to use when alone or with friends, taking hilarious selfies at home or outside. It also helps me when it comes to video chatting with loved ones and clients abroad. ISight, Skype, and Photobooth are one of the best apps to best utilize your Macbook's high definiteion camera. But the problem is, I get a 'no camera connected' error when using it. So how do you solve the problem of the 'No camera connected'?

It is an irritating feeling when you need to video call someone using iSight, Facetime, or iMessage, or when you want to take a photo using Photobooth, only to see that your Macbook's camera does not connect! There are various reasons why the camera cannot connect, and while it's a struggle, it can easily be fixed.

    1. Restart your Macbook:

This is one of the first things you should try when you see an error in your camera, or just about any error you stumble onto. Restarting your Macbook may help detect the camera.

    2. Reboot your Macbook:

If it still shows the same error after restarting, you can try rebooting your Macbook if you have the time. It's a bit inconvenient as it takes more time than usual, but it will get the job done.

    3. Reset the System Management Controller to Fix 'No Attached Camera Problem':

If your battery is removable, you can reset it by shutting down your Macbook, take out the battery and charger, and hold the Power button for 5 seconds. Once your put back the battery and charger, power it up and check to see if that works.

If your battery can't be removed, you can follow the instructions on how to reset the SMC for either Macbook laptop or desktop in Apple's official website.

    4. Force quit with Terminal Command:

This is another remedy that most people do not know about. Simple and doesn't require you to reboot, this may work!

    1. Quit all apps that require you to use the camera
    2. Open Terminal in Applications > Utilities folder
    3. Type 'sudo killall VDCAssistant' in the command strings and click Return
    4. Type 'sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant' in the command strings and click Return
    5. Enter the admin password and relaunch Photobooth to check if it's working!

With simple solutions, you will be able to have your Macbook's camera connected in no time. You can now use iSight, Facetime, and iMessage properly and call your family, or use Photobooth to take photos!
